Hoxsie Family Facility Fund

Tanya Hoxsie, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley’s Chief Executive Officer, has announced her retirement for the end of May. Please join us in celebrating Tanya’s amazing career, dedicated to giving children safe places where they can build the foundation for their GREAT FUTURES. Tanya has been a leader in the Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley nonprofit community since 1979. Her career began at the Girls Club of Huntington Beach. Through a series of mergers with local youth services agencies, she came to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley in 1995. Under her leadership, Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley became the largest youth services organization in our community and a national leader in the field.

Tanya’s dedication to giving children the very best programs shines through in every area of the Boys & Girls Club she leads. The organization has won national, state, and local awards for numerous areas of programming including awards for program excellence from Boys & Girls Clubs of America naming Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley’s programs the best in the nation in the areas of Education, Performing Arts, Sports, Innovations in Safety, Family Support, and Transportation and
state awards such as the California School Board Association’s Golden Bell, the State Senate’s Nonprofit of the Year Award for District 34, and many more. Throughout her tenure, she has led Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley through extraordinary growth and change, all to better serve the needs of children and families in the community.

She led numerous successful multi-million-dollar capital campaigns to establish permanent facilities that have become integral parts of the daily life
of local families. These facilities include:

  • The Learning Center Child Development Preschool
  • The Kingston Branch in Fountain Valley
  • The ClubHouse Academy Center for the Performing Arts
  • The Kingston Technology Family Campus, including the Robert Mayer Child Development Preschool, the Pacific Life Foundation Branch, and the Harry and Jaynne Boand Gymnasium.

Tanya has helped generations of kids fulfill their potential and helped countless moms and dads know their kids are safe, happy, and well cared for at the Boys & Girls Club. Her legacy will last well beyond the time that her career ends. We hope that you will join us in celebrating that legacy!

The Hoxsie Family Facility Fund
A New Opportunity to Support the Boys & Girls Club

Tanya Hoxsie has spent her entire career creating safe places for children to learn, play, and grow. Likewise, her husband Bob Hoxsie, has given countless hours of both his time and that of his staff at Hoxsie Builders to maintain the Club’s facilities. As Tanya passes the torch to the next generation of Club leadership, and Bob prepares for his own retirement, the Club asks that you consider honoring their passion for giving kids the very best places by helping establish the Hoxsie Family Facility Fund.

This board-designated restricted fund will help Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley take on major projects that are necessary for providing kids with the safe, positive environment that families expect and deserve. These include things like roof replacements, HVAC system upgrades, sidewalk and parking lot resurfacing, updating the bus fleet that brings kids to the Clubs, and other critical projects. Many facilities projects were delayed during the pandemic as the Club directed every dollar to the fight to keep its doors open. As our buildings and equipment age, the need for these facilities upgrades is becoming urgent. The Hoxsie Family Facility Fund will help meet these critical needs today as well as plan for the future of maintaining nearly 100,000 square feet of space at the Club’s seven facilities as well as a fleet of 18 buses that bring children to and from the Club each day.

Thanks to the generosity of Kingston Technology, the Board of Directors, and several caring individuals, the Hoxsie Family Facility Fund is off to a great start with $300,000 raised toward the Fund's $1,000,000 goal. Please consider making your gift today to honor the Hoxsie and join them in their commitment to giving kids the very best places to spend their days.
